Journée mémoriale Vincent Van Gogh dans le Borinage (1878-1880).

Programme

• 09h30 : accueil dans l'ancien charbonnage de Marcasse , Sentier de Saint-Ghislain 7 à 7340 Colfontaine.
• 10h00 : départ de la promenade guidée sur les traces de Vincent Van Gogh à Petit-Wasmes (+/- 10 km)
  
• 13h30 : Fin de la promenade et aéritif sur le site de Marcasse
• 14h00 : Barbecue convivial au charbonnage de Marcasse et découverte du domaine
• éventuellement : visite du site du Grand-Hornu (Patimoine Mondial de l'UNESCO) : www.grand-hornu.eu

Cette promenade vous fera découvrir :

• Les lieux fréquentés par Vincent Van Gogh lors de son séjour comme évangéliste parmi les mineurs de Petit-Wasmes, tels que la Maison Denis, le Salon du Bébé et le charbonnage de Marcasse ;
• Les lettres que Vincent a écrites à son frère Theo lors de son séjour dans le Borinage ;
• Des anecdotes et des lieux ayant servi au tournage du film « Lust for Life » (la Vie Passionnée de Vincent Van Gogh) de Vincente Minelli en 1955, avec Kirk Douglas dans le rôle principal ;
• L’histoire de l’exploitation du charbon dans la région du Borinage et le début de la Révolution Industrielle, avec quelques vestiges, dont une série de « dalles » recouvrant les anciens puits d’extraction, le châssis à molettes en béton du Sauwartan, le charbonnage de Marcasse ;
• Les sommets des terrils du charbonnage de Sauwartan et du charbonnage no. 6 d’Hornu & Wasmes.
• Des panoramas sur les vallées de la Haine et de l’Elwasmes, le Bois de Colfontaine et la réserve naturelle « Marcasse et alentours » ;
• L’histoire et le folklore local (la fête de l’Alion, la Pucelette, Gilles de Chin et le Dragon, l’Abbaye de la Court, le pagnon borain, …)

Prix pour la promenade : 10€/personne.

Le prix comprend :

• Guidage et explications historiques ;
• Accès au domaine de Marcasse, un morceau de pagnon borain et une tasse de café ;

Prix pour le barbecue : 15 €/personne.

Programma

• 09u30 : ontvangst in de oude steenkolenmijn van Marcasse , Sentier de Saint-Ghislain 7 à 7340 Colfontaine.
• 10u00 : vertrek van de geleide wandeling in het spoor van Vincent Van Gogh in Petit-Wasmes (+/- 10 km)
  
• 13h30 : einde van de wandeling en aperitif op het domein van Marcasse
• 14u00 : gezellige barbecue au in Marcasseen ontdekking van het domein
  
• eventueel : bezoek van de site du Grand-Hornu (UNESCO werelderfgoed) : www.grand-hornu.eu

Tijdens deze wandeling zult u de volgende zaken ontdekken :

• De plaatsen waar Vincent Van Gogh woonde en werkte tijdens zijn verblijf als evangelist onder de mijnwerkers in Petit-Wasmes, zoals het « Maison Denis », het „Salon du Bébé“ en de Marcasse  kolenmijn;
• De brieven die Vincent aan zijn broer Theo schreef tijdens zijn verblijf in de Borinage ;
• Anecdotes en plaatsen die gediend hebben voor de opnamen van de film « Lust for Life »van  Vincente Minelli in 1955, met Kirk Douglas in de hoofdrol;
• De geschiedenis van de steenkoolwinning in de Borinage en het begin van de Industriële Revolutie, met een aantal overblijfselen, waaronder enkele  « dallen » die oude mijnschachten afsluiten, de betonnen mijnbok van de Sauwartan, de Marcasse kolenmijn;
• De toppen van de terrils (= steenbergen) van de Sauwartan kolenmijn en van de kolenmijn Nr. 6 van Hornu & Wasmes.
• Panorama’s over de valleien van de Haine en de  Elwasmes, het Bos van Colfontaine en het natuurreservaat « Marcasse et alentours » ;
• De lokale geschiedenis en folklore (het feest van de Alion, de Pucelette, Gilles de Chin en deDraak, de abdijhoeve « Abbaye de la Cour »t, de pagnon borain, …)

Prijs voor de wandeling : 10 €/persoon.

Deze prijs omvat :

• De gids en historische uitleg ;
• Toegang tot het domein van Marcasse, een stuk pagnon borain en een kop koffie;

Prijs voor de barbecue : 15 €/persoon.

Het menu omvat :

• Aperitief;
• Barbecueschoel met rauwkost;
• 1 drankje;
• Koffie;

 Inschrijving absoluut verplicht ten laatste op  27 augustus 2016 !!!!

De opbrengsten van deze dag gaan naar de vzw "Marcasse et alentours" en zullen bijdragen tot de inrichting van een onthaalinfrastuur voor de bezoekers.

During this walk you will discover the following matters :

• The places where Vincent Van Gogh lived and worked while he was an evangelist among the miners in Petit-Wasmes, such as the « Maison Denis », the „Salon du Bébé“ and the Marcasse  colliery;
• The letters Vincent wrote to his brother Theo during his stay in the Borinage;
• Stories about and locations used for the shooting of « Lust for Life » by Vincente Minelli in 1955, starring Kirk Douglas;
• The history of the coal exploitation in the Borinage and the start of the Industrial Revolution, with some remainders such as a couple of « dalles » covering the former mine shafts, the concrete pithead of the Sauwartan mine, the Marcasse colliery;
• The summets of the Sauwartan and the Hornu & Wasmes no. 6 collieries’ slag mountains.
• Panoramas over the Haine and the Elwasmes valleys, the Colfontaine Forest and the « Marcasse et alentours » natural reserve;
• The local history and folklore (the Alion festival, the Pucelette, Gilles de Chin and the Dragon, the « Abbaye de la Cour » abbey farm, the “pagnon borain”, …)

Price for the guided walk : 10 €/person.
